Lorraine - Accounts
Hi, my name is Lorraine and I look after the accounts here at GP Print. (I’m the one our lovely customers usually try and avoid.)
My passion for money started whilst I was still at secondary school and was the manager of the schools Mid-Bank, a working branch of the Midland Bank. The scheme gave me first-hand experience at running a bank and an insight into the world of finance.
After graduating from DeMontfort University in Leicester with a BA (Hons) in Business Administration 25 years ago, I spent three years processing life insurance claims at Pearl Assurance. Not the cheeriest of jobs, but it taught me compassion and empathy - skills which hopefully mean, I am not too heavy handed when chasing our customers for payment.
Over the following years, I worked for a hand tool importer in both sales and accounts and for the Norwich & Peterborough Building Society’s Lending Team. Roles that gave me experience in invoicing, credit file assessment, account opening, credit control and debt management.
I joined GP Print back in January 2014 and have not looked back. Although people usually think working in accounts is boring, my job at GP Print is very varied, so there is never a dull moment. I am also fortunate enough to be part of a small team which means that I get to speak with many of our customers on the phone and face to face. Plus when we are busy, you will often find me giving the production team a helping hand.
