Our sponsorship shirt design for Hampton United
Sometimes, things don’t go to plan. Last year, our print company offered to sponsor a local children’s football team, Feeder FC, to help provide them with a brand-new kit. Sadly, despite our enthusiasm and best intentions, the sponsorship never came to fruition due to circumstances beyond our control. It was a disappointing experience that left us feeling disheartened — and, truth be told, a bit wary about getting involved in team sponsorships again.
But then, something unexpected happened.
Out of the blue, we received a heartfelt message from the former coach of that very same team. He explained that he had since moved on to coach at Hampton United, where his son now plays. He told us that his new team had recently held a sweepstake to raise money for their kit — and by chance, he’d won. Instead of keeping the sponsorship for himself, he wanted to give it to us as a gesture of goodwill and a way to make amends for what had happened before.
It was such a thoughtful and genuine act that completely turned our previous disappointment into something positive. His message reminded us that while not every experience in business (or life) goes smoothly, there are still honest, caring people out there who go out of their way to put things right — even when they don’t have to.
Showing their kit off with pride after their first game of the season, and a 3-1 victory!
We’re now incredibly proud to be the official sponsors of one of the Hampton United kids’ football teams. The team is thriving, playing weekly league matches, joining tournaments, and building a brilliant community spirit both on and off the pitch. Seeing the players wear their new kits, full of energy and enthusiasm, has been a truly heartwarming reminder of why local sponsorships like these matter.
What started as a negative experience has turned into something genuinely uplifting. It’s a reminder that good things can come from bad situations — and that kindness, honesty, and community still have a strong place in the world we live in.
So here’s to fresh starts, fair play, and fantastic football — and to everyone who keeps believing in the good.
